We built this because we needed it
Pipefox started as an internal script at Impel Labs, where the paid social budget was about to be cut. The script proved the budget was working. Then the marketers we built it for started asking whether they could buy it.
What we believe
Attribution should be affordable. The tools that answer this question properly have historically started at five figures a year and needed a data engineer. That leaves out almost everybody.
Company level is the right level. B2B buying is a committee sport. Chasing individuals produces precise answers to the wrong question and a compliance headache.
The CRM wins. A number in a tool nobody opens does not exist. If it does not appear in the report the board already reads, we have not finished the job.
Meet Rusty
Our fox. A fox works a trail backwards: it starts from the thing it wants and reads the marks left behind until it knows exactly where they came from. That is the whole product in one animal.
Foxes are also famously good at noticing the thing nobody else registered, which is what view-through attribution amounts to.
